About This Spot

Stepping into Cervecería Amancay in the heart of Esquel feels like slipping into a quietly familiar gathering spot where craft beer and local flavors blend effortlessly. The space hums with an inviting casualness, welcoming both longtime locals and curious travelers who seek a genuine taste of the region. The atmosphere carries a gentle buzz — soft music, conversations flowing warmly, and the occasional gleam of a television screen, all set against the backdrop of a neighborhood that moves at a relaxed, unhurried pace.

Here, the experience is as much about savoring the moment as it is about the offerings themselves. The aromas of hearty Patagonian fare mingle with the subtle fruity notes emerging from the taps, where raspberry-infused brews join more classic amber and pale ales. Plates arrive thoughtfully, inviting sharing and slow appreciation — like a vibrant picada alongside the heartiness of lamb ravioli, or the comforting bite of a pizza topped with pancetta and fried eggs. Each dish and drink feels rooted in place, with touches that speak to both tradition and creative warmth.

Conversations linger over glasses of beer crafted with care, while casual diners savor combinations that range from tender lomitos to tables laden with local cheeses and empanadas. The bar’s relaxed yet attentive pace means there’s room to breathe, to connect, and to truly enjoy the details that quietly define the setting: the friendly nod from staff, the textures of wood and stone, the gentle murmur of shared moments between friends old and new.

Whether it’s a weekday evening spent unwinding or a weekend celebration of the local harvest, Cervecería Amancay invites you to settle in, discover, and slow down — a modest yet meaningful gathering place where the pulse of Esquel’s craft beer scene meets the warmth of its culinary roots.

Cervecería Amancay is a classic in downtown Esquel you don’t want to miss. They are a local brewery with seasonal taps that sells their brand commercially and setup a nice bar/restaurant down here that features local dishes with a twist. And, of course, they offer the whole range of they beers ranging from classics to fruity and half/half options. The food is quite good, considering that essentially Amancay is a bar… I went for the ravioli filled with deer and they were quite good! Staff is friendly and attentive, prices are reasonable and in general is a good overall experience to have in Esquel.

Okay place with okay beer. Nice to see a porter on tap. Amber wasn't the best.
